out on the boat

we took connor to see his granny, granddad and aunt koko a few weeks ago and connor got to go on his first boat ride.

he loved swimming with adam!

he splashed....

and kicked....

and had so much fun. before we know it nicole will be teaching him to surf!

The past year....

Some of the best moments over the past year.....

1) Delivery - yeah it was hard, but it was the best day of my life

2) Watching Adam change a poopy diaper - he never waited till Connor was done, so he ended up trying to catch the rest of it...too funny

3) Very early morning feedings - few things are better than snuggling in a dark room when it's just you and the baby in a rocking chair

4) Hearing Connor laugh

5) Getting hugs without asking for them

6) Reading Connor a book and having to wait while he kisses the character on the page

7) Sleeping through the night - this contradicts #3, but come on....8 hours of sleep again is nice

8) Splashing in the bathtub....and the clean smell that follows

9) Checking on him before I go to bed - it's always interesting to see what he was doing right before he fell asleep

10) Arguing with Adam over whether or not he is saying "MaMa" - which he totally does

Thank you God for blessing us with a perfect baby boy. I pray that I raise him to follow Your will in life and that he lives every day for You.

Thank you Adam for being such an awesome Dad. You love our son with so much passion. You're not afraid to break into the Hokey Pokey in the middle of the grocery store simply because it makes him happy. I'm okay with being your 2nd favorite person.....and I'm looking forward to being 3rd on your list one day!

Party Time!

We celebrated Connor's first birthday over the weekend with a monkey party! My mother-in-law made two awesome cakes and my mom made some incredible food. We ended up having almost 50 people in my little tiny house, but we had so much fun! Here are just some pictures of the happy day!

he took the spoon away from me....so i figured he could do it by himself! i showed him once and then he had it. of course he wears half of it and it takes an hour to feed to him, but he's so proud of himself it's worth the wait.....and mess!

so much to explore!

connor has discovered that he can travel into different rooms of our house now and play. surprise, surprise his favorite rooms are the kitchen and bathroom. his face lights up, his crawl quickens and he giggles everytime he turns the corner. i just can't get enough of him!!!

First trip to the Zoo

We took Connor to the Caldwell Zoo back on April 25th. It was a beautiful spring day and we all had a great time.





We started out with a trip to the petting area of the zoo. Connor thought the goats were very interesting and really wanted to see what their hair tasted like. (None actually made it to his mouth.)

Even the hand-washing station was an adventure.









Of course, he wants to touch everything.

They have a bird area that you can walk into. For a buck, you can buy a 'seed stick' and coax the birds to eat from it. I could not let him hold the stick since he wanted to put it in his mouth, but he was enthralled the entire time we were in there.










There were many animals that he did not notice because they blended into the environment well. Those can get discovered on subsequent trips!

Adventure Baby

After all the fun he had swinging with PaPa (his great-grandfather) we decided to get him one for the house. I think the picture says the rest better than I ever could.

Water Baby

When Connor was first born, and for the first couple months thereafter we bathed him in a little infant tub straddling the kitchen sink. He would either fuss, or just lay there till it was over.

Now, we bathe him in the tub and he loves it. When you ask him if he wants out, he just turns around and keeps playing. He is such a fun baby!

a few days ago a big storm blew in and knocked out our power for about thirty mintues. connor didn't quite understand what was going on. so i fished out his flashlight that he got for christmas and let him play with it. he loved watching the light on the walls 'dance' around. and if you know adam.....this was probably one of the happiest moments in his life.....watching his son play with a flashlight.

easter with the family

we had an awesome easter weekend. connor is just old enough to pick up the eggs. we thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful family and for sending us his son so that we might be saved!







connor also started pulling up this weekend. it was a shock to walk into his room and see this.....





he brings such joy to our lives!! it's never a dull moment!

where....oh where can spring be???

when i woke up sunday morning it was a gorgeous day!! the sun was out and it was calling my name. so after getting everyone ready and strapping connor into his stroller we went out for a walk. we didn't make out the driveway before adam wanted to turn back. the wind was soooo cold. we made it to the end of our street, turned around and came back.

i am ready for sun. i'm ready to play outside and plant flowers. connor needs to go to the zoo!!! so can it just be spring already??

connor's sick??

connor has been a little sick lately, with a bad cough and runny nose. so we took him to the doctor just to make sure. after seeing this picture i can't for the life of me remember why i thought he was sick.

if you're happy and you know it.......

connor learned how to clap over the weekend. he was so proud of himself. now the only excuse he needs to clap is to hear someone say " YAY!!!" and he's clapping away. good job little guy!!!

connor's 1st haircut

since connor was blessed with a head FULL of hair it became necessary that he got a haircut. he was such a champ!! he squirmed a little bit so i had to give him his pacifier, but no crying. he looks like such a little man now!!

lately i have been very entertained by reading blogs from my family and friends. i love seeing their pictures and reading about what they are up to. this has led me to start a blog myself. my son keeps me constantly entertained. i hope it translates well!
